Mad Hatters Tea Party

Anyone for ..... TEA?
I've never been a "tea drinker".  I would have the occasional Earl Grey or Green Tea but would be happy to leave it at that.

There's something lovely about going out for a "coffee" and something entirely necessary about the caffeine after long days in court.  I love coffee with pistacio macaroons.

My coffee machine makes fabulous coffee.

And my kettle has been very neglected ... until recently ...

Whilst procrastinating last week I entered T2 (http://t2tea.com/).  For those not "in the know" this is a Tea franchise with a lovely shop fit and equally helpful staff.

My goal was to buy some green tea to replace my coffee in the morning and I found so much more than that!! *
*Just a note for the sceptics .... obviously the purpose of my blog is to record savings!  I consider this purchase  an exception to the saving rule as it is good for my health (which I'll need for increased willpower) and  should save me money at the coffee shops!

I bought the

Green Tea AND

Earl Grey AND

Cinnamon (I could not resist the heavenly scent) Cinnamon AND

of course a teapot.

I did leave with two free samples ....

Melbourne Breakfast - said to be fabulous to wake up to

and...

Honey Vanilla - the smell alone is divine.  Already sold out in store!

Yesterday marked my first morning of tea. I tried the Earl Grey and it was beautiful.  The ritual of the preparation of the loose leaf tea and the heady aroma in the morning was a perfect remedy for morningitis.  Coupled with the rainy weather it was divine.

So...after grocery shopping yesterday I popped in to thank the girls at T2 and.... tasted Chai for the first time.  Its a spiced milk tea.  This one had Vanilla Soy milk and Honey - divine.

I also acquired the lovely tins to house my tea.  They match my french kitchen chest beautifully.

Tea has lots of health benefits.  I should have known it was good ... the Mad Hatter, March Hare and the Door mouse were certainly onto something!!!

How do you like your tea???

Beyonce named as the most beautiful woman in the world

You must admit she is fabulous!! This is my current desktop picture  ....

Her alter ego Sasha Fierce is what Beyonce says enabled her to separate her own shy personality to her stage persona.  Perhaps something we could all learn from in order to grow into the best we can be.

Beyonce is bootylicious .. she is a strong and talented woman we should applaud. It's not just about her looks or her dancing and singing - she is so grounded and does a lot for charity.

Even if you don't believe me about her saintlyness and you are sceptical, may I remind you of her videos ....

AMAZING!!!

Wedding Bells

I ended my Summer Holidays this year with a fabulous Summer Wedding at Watsons Bay.

Congratuations to Mr and Mrs P who were married at Vaucluse on Sunday with a stunning reception at Dunbar House, Watsons Bay.

There were some lovely cars at the wedding.

I wore a Jayson Brundson ensemble and made sure I arrived in a car of choice with the essential bling and bows.

I especially loved Mr & Mrs D's new transport!  This shot taken on route to the reception.

The day started with rain and ended with a rainbow.

Mr and Mrs D's wedding started my Summer Holidays 12 months before.

It was beautiful garden wedding overlooking the harbour in Darling Point with a divine reception at the Royal Motor Yacht Club.

I wore another Jayson Brundson ensemble.

It was a very romantic evening.

The bride and groom were amazing hosts and we danced the night away whilst sipping vintage Pommery watched by a full moon over the Harbour,

And if you think that was all for weddings ... think again ... Mr and Mrs J H married this year at Newstead House on a perfect Sunny Day.  It was a splendid wedding!

The groom owns a printing shop and bought a special vintage machine to print the invitations.

They were so nice that many of the guests wouldn't send them back to RSVP - I've still got mine!!

The reception was at Aqua Linea which served up the tastiest morsels with amazing service.

I wore the "poodle dress"  courtesy (again) of Mr Jayson Brudson.  The Gina bling heels matched right in with one of my favourite couples Mr and Mr Marc Jacobs (you know who you are).  They taught me about the importance of brogues, smoking jackets and bow ties.  Thanks boys!

After all of these weddings ...  I started to think about my all time favourite weddings

... one could not miss the English Royals....

WILLIAM & KATE

DIANA & CHARLES

... but my favourite wedding is still Grace Kelly's.

What was your favourite wedding?

Skin Cancer Fundraiser His Honour Keith Slack

Federal Magistrate Slack was a gentleman and a scholar.

There is a special sitting of the Federal Magistrates Court in his memory tomorrow.   His Eulogy, given by His Honour Justice Murphy, can be found at http://www.hearsay.org.au/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1314&Itemid=203

Ashley, of the Federal Magistrates court staff, is riding in His Honour's memory in the "Ride to Conquer Cancer".  It is a ride of over 200kms over two days in August.  There is a fund-raising night tomorrow night - I'd urge all who can to support this event.

Pray for Burma

I was fortunate to see "The Lady" yesterday.  An inspirational film about  Aung San Suu Kyi.

Aung San Suu Kyi is a pro democracy leader in Burma who has been imprisoned for 15 of the last  21 years.  Her imprisonment was as a result of her fight for democracy and human rights in Burma ruled by the Junta, an oppressive Burmese regime.

Suu Kyi father, Aung San founded the modern Burmese Army and negotiated Burma's independence from the British empire in 1947.  He was assassinated in the same year by his rivals.

Suu Kyi lived in England for a time where she married and had two children.  She returned to Burma to nurse her mother where she witnessed injustices and the oppressive Burmese regime first hand.

This event sparked the start of her party "The National League for Democracy" to right injustices which she witnessed first hand in Burma.

Her passion ignited the nation and she won the right to rule in the Burmese 1990 General Election.

The Junta responded by placing Suu Kyi under house arrest.

Suu Kyi suffered greatly for her quest for democracy.

She spent significant time separated from her family (as a result of her house arrest and fears of leaving Burma and not being able to return)

She was not able to farewell her husband upon his death due to the Burmese Government repeatedly rejecting a visa for him.

Suu Kyi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize whilst imprisoned.  She has used the prize money to set up a health and education fund in Burma.

Finally good news came this year.  On 1 April 2012 it was announced that Suu Kyi had won the vote for a seat in parliament.

We can all learn a lot from Suu Kyi.  Her passion for country's freedom has come at great personal cost but has improved the lives of many.  Her journey has also focussed the world's attention on the plight of her people.  She is a strong powerful and stylish woman.  She has maintained grace and dignity under immense hardship.

Why not wear a flower in your hair this week and think of Suu Kyi?

Please do not forget the plight of Burma.
